Your Questions About Website Traffic Comparison

Richard asks…
How do I do SEO for my new website?
I’ve just started a new website that is selling great products. It is a travel agent that sells holidays to many worldwide destinations. Doing a price comparison with some of the bigger player such as Jet2 and Thomas Cook are pricing is just as competitive. I’ve been submitting the site to loads of ‘review my website‘ forums and have been getting plenty of positive feedback about the design. However, the problem is, it is a new domain and the traffic figures are non existent. Without any authority what advice would you give to get votes off other webmasters of travel related sites?
Well if you have done the course before, surely you can save me the money and just give me a rundown of the main points…

Traffic Guy answers:
Start subscribing good articles and put your website in the signature.
Build backlinks (but don’t follow any Blackhat SEO advice, the light is not worth the candle).
Comment meaningfully on blogs about holidays/travel and see if possible to leave your link with them.
Get reviewed on popular blogs.
Use social networking to promote it, but don’t expect high conversions.
Get a PR agency to announce your website (might be a waste of money).
Research, test and improve your skills every day.

Mary asks…
Should I be concerned about using a phrase “sort of like eBay, but only for widgets” as a tagline in my logo?
I have a website that is best described as “sort of like eBay, but just for widgets”.
I’ve been using this text in some marketing materials I’ve sent out and think it really explains the site easily and quickly, without wasting space. I’m considering using this as the tagline on my site, meaning it could be featured in logos and print material.
Can I do this? Is it covered because eBay’s such a huge icon? What if it is only used for comparison(and is a fair comparison)?
The key here is that this is also a new website, so it’s relatively obscure and gets minimal traffic. I can’t imagine it’s worth the trouble of big companies to go after.
I guess what I’m really getting at is, is this only something to be concerned about if/when they yell at us?
This was a variation of the real thing to use as an example:) I was mainly just trying to use a well known name that gives off a distinct impression by the brand itself. Like Kleenex or Xerox.

Traffic Guy answers:
I wouldn’t use their name in your actual logo. There is NOTHING wrong with comparing yourself to eBay in an article or in marketing materials. But in your logo you’re appropriating their name as part of yours. That will definitely get you a cease-and-desist letter.

Helen asks…
Has anyone or know of anyone really doing the mystery shopping?
Without getting suckered by a company to pay a fee. I know a girl who did it for a little bit but she wasn’t able to do it and work full time because they were very specific about their needs-like you had to go to Burger King for breakfast and stores a very specific times. She said there where no sign up fees and she originally found them in the newspaper. She did a few jobs for them and got paid but she said they didn’t have a lot of work they could offer her.
I have also heard of people paying $30.00 member fee and getting scammed out of $3,000 after give the website their credit info.
I was interested in this because I need a job for some extra cash and I already do comparison shopping for the job I am at and have to do things like reports on how the traffic walks through the store and how many people past this rack and how assessable it is.

Traffic Guy answers:
Hey Hey bubbles! Yes I have a friend who’s mother used to do mystery shopping at Acme! And you get paid to grocery shop plus I think you get to keep the groceries! I can ask me mum! LEt me know! Acme, crazy about food!

Nancy asks…
How would I go about preparing myself for a court hearing about a speeding ticket?
I just got pulled over and issued a citation for speeding. The officer told me I was going 90 mph in a 55 limit zone. He took my license and told me I probably will not get it back until I’m 21 (I’m currently 19; birthday: 10/04/90), then told me to use my citation as my license until the court date, which is March 4th 2009. I’m not sure if I was going 90, but I really don’t think I was. I sped up to pass a slow truck (on a 2 lane highway) and that is when I got pulled over. The flow of traffic was much faster than 55 MPH. For example, after I got back on the road and made sure to go under the speed limit every car was passing me pretty easily. This is the first time that I have ever been pulled over.
According to the county website, speeding in excess of 89 MPH in a 55 mph zone is punishable by a $725 fine. In comparison, going 79-88 MPH in a 55 MPH zone is punishable by a fine of $280. Seems convenient that I was accused of going that extra MPH.
What should I do? How should I approach my court date? Thankyou.

Linda asks…
What should I look for in a GPS?
I am looking to buy a GPS system but don’t know a lot about them. What I do know is that I want a wide screen, I want to be able to chose from various routes, I want lots of POI, I want voice commands as well as text directions, I want to be able to view gas prices and real time traffic, I want no monthly fees or update fees and I would prefer if it was under $200! Are there any other features I should look for or make sure they don’t have? What brands are the best? Is there a website where I can find comparisons of all the brands and the top GPS systems as well as the pros and cons? What does it mean if it has or doesn’t have a car locator?
What brand would you say is the best out of Magellan, Garmin or Tom Tom, those seem to be the most popluar brands.

Traffic Guy answers:
I looked for you and the closest I could find was this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ELJ9QK?ie=UTF8&tag=httpcapitacom-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001ELJ9QK

Traffic Guy answers:
Bonapartism had its followers from 1815 forward among those who never accepted the defeat at Waterloo or the Congress of Vienna. Napoleon I’s death in exile on Saint Helena in 1821 only transferred the allegiance of many of these persons to other members of his family; however, particularly after the death of Napoleon’s son, the Duke of Reichstadt (known to Bonapartists as Napoleon II), there were several different members of the family in which the Bonapartist hopes rested.
The disturbances of 1848 gave this group hope. Bonapartists were essential in the election of Napoleon I’s nephew Louis Napoleon Bonaparte as President of the Second Republic, and gave him the political support necessary for his 1852 discarding of the constitution and proclaiming the Second Empire. Louis Napoleon Bonaparte assumed the title Napoleon III to acknowledge the brief reign of Napoleon’s son Napoleon II at the end of the Hundred Days in 1815.

question of sincerity in solidarity?
concrete examples:
a bishop speaks his concern about poverty but he has his own nutritionist for dietary purposes. but come to think of it: mother teresa, mahatma gandhi, bishop romero didnt have nutritionists.they faced their mission and their death.
a priest talks about the economic situation, global awareness, migrant workers, but after the mass he will rest in his air-conditioned room.
a president of a certain country is giving donations and raising funds for victims of calamities but this president cannot and will never sell his/her properties, haciendas, golf course, ranch for these people.
now, we face the victims in china earthquake, the cyclone victims in myanmar, poverty in africa, human trafficking in vietnam. i ask myself, how, and in what way, can i express my solidarity with these people everyday. how sincere i am.
it’s very easy to donate some money and after that you can go and drive your brand new BMW. is that real discipleship?

If I could, I’d drop all that I have and go the way of the apostles and go to hard to get to places to spread the Gospel and to help out.
Since I can not physically do that, I offer up all my discomforts and my illness, I pray a lot too. Every little bit does help

George asks…
How’s this for an addition to Obama’s infrastructure improvement plan?
It’s clear that he will try to implement somethings that look like he’s doing something positive to compensate for his inability to meet all his promises to end the war and unite the people or even to provide jobs (not the job of the government) while improving the economy (stopping fraud and creating incentive for business, like lower taxes are good things that he won’t pay attention to). So here is a thought that perhaps Dem’s and Rep’s (that act more like Dem’s) a like can agree upon. “Improved mass transportation!” There is a trend toward saving gas and the world (very large marketing and political ploy) So let’s play along and make things really good for everyone involved. Wouldn’t you be more apt to ride the rails if they were consistent, clean, convenient, quick, on time and more frequent? I know if I were driving into large metropolitan area’s I’d want to be able to spend less time in traffic and you know we’ve been told we need reduce carbon emissions (propaganda). I would also like that my kids could get here from their by some means less expensive then the amount they have to pay for dependable vehicles and the insurance for said vehicles. So lets all get in favor of a new administrations attempt at helping the economy as well as helping the environment (Which BTW cleans it self constantly with out us, with less cars on the road, we might have manufacture bankruptcies but we will breath easier and sleep without a guilty conscious which is really all we have because modern industrial nations clean the environment more then 3rd world countries some claim we are polluting). I can imagine lots of mono rail systems moving at high speeds down the median strips of highways throughout or great country, very much like the Eisenhower administration envisioned those highways themselves.
Rider, he’s said his plan is to improve the infrastructure of our nation, Isn’t a improving and building a better mass transportation system better then changing the light bulbs in government offices and filling the highway department truck tires with more air?
Ridder, that’s not my thumb! grin
So, from what I get from most of you (and I agree) the economy drives the dollar and we are all mostly people that want control of our money and the independence to spend /go where we and when we choose, But don’t we have to think bigger. Does everything have to come down to dollars. Isn’t it viable to think that even in rapid city some person that has to walk home late at night would be served better with the best transportation system in the world. Imagine just hopping on something that will wisk you away to where ever you want to go when ever you want to at the cost of everyone else in the country?!
Starting in highly dense area’s is the first place we should go, make it effecient, timely, and safe and they will come. Oh, It should absolutely be private, the government should only inspire, provide insentives and lead the way to get it done.
People don’t ride because the alternative is still better. But wow, when I have to go into Boston and sit for hours in trafic!

Traffic Guy answers:
Joanie I agree with you. We live in America and do not have an underground rail system. Europe has a great underground rail system. Just think of the number of people that could be employed for it would take many to work on this project also the steel industry, concrete industry, builders, electricians, lather workers, many bulldozers and dirt movers and the list goes on and on. It would sure save our gas for better usage than driving cars.
I am against bailing out the auto industry after I heard that the CEO and other top people made a yearly salary of millions of dollars. They took the money and have lived high on the hog now it is pay back time or should be. Why should we be responsible for their mistakes and giving themselves much more than top of the line salaries.
I think the American people deserve a better transportation system and a quicker one. I enjoyed riding the tram all over Europe. It even goes under the ocean into Wales and Ireland.
If Europe can master a feat like that surely we can just build an under ground rail system. We have to many people that say it can’t be done just like the skeptics that said an airplane would not be useful or even get off the ground or the railroad would take to long to build. But they build a railroad system one rail after another until it spread all of the USA and the airplane did get off the ground and has been very useful in more ways than a quicker way to take a vacation. So I say yes we need to start with one bulldoser of dirt after another. We are behind the times it is time for us to catch up.

Sandra asks…
Tips to create a good internal linking strategy?
Google is a name that almost everyone in the world knows and they should, as the world’s most widely used search engine. Many people throw up a website for different reasons and believe that is the end of it. The internet contains so much information that it would take a person several lifetimes to read a fraction of the information, it needs the best organization possible. This task has been accomplished by search engines; the largest of which are Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Getting your site in front of viewers all comes down to how well it is optimized. SEO, also known as search engine optimization, is ideal for people who are trying to get visitors to their site and don’t want to pay outrageous prices to get them. It’s the sad truth but when it comes to SEO advice you need to be very careful who you listen to because there is so much damaging information out there. This article will be discussing some of the common mistakes that occur when you’re trying to optimize your site.
SEO takes time to work but once it does it is almost self sustaining. Patience is a must for SEO. Of course, once you’ve done the initial work, the payoff is lots of traffic. Everybody wants to be on the first page for a commercial keyword that is in demand. You must be ready to build links, create unique content and put in the time to have everything in place, then you can simply forget getting ranked for any keyword. The speed at which your site loads is also a factor, not only to your popularity with visitors, but also to how the search engines view your site. If your site contains messy code or is overloaded with convoluted code, it will make your site load more slowly in a visitor’s browser, which is something Google doesn’t like. Where possible, try to avoid internal code on your pages and use an external CSS file instead. This small change can speed up your loading times and make it much easier to update your site later. Remember that search engines aim to offer their own users the best possible results to suit their needs, so your aim is to find ways to appeal to what the search engines want. In essence, this can mean your site needs to match what your visitors are looking for and also needs to fit within what the search engines are looking for.
Getting incoming links too quickly is also a mistake, as it will send out a red flag to the search engine and they’ll penalize you for link spamming. A major myth going around right now is that your new site will catapult to the number spot on the first page if your link is mass distributed across the web. But this doesn’t work that way, as search engines like natural link building. Are you willing to get your brand new site sandboxed and de-indexed because you didn’t have the patience to build your links naturally over time? The big secret is to build links slow and steady.
See, SEO isn’t as complicated as it seems, just stick to the basics and you will be doing better than most. The more you practice optimizing your site, the better results you will get. So, now you have it; quality backlinks, internally linking related pages, on-site optimization, and patience.

Traffic Guy answers:
On-page SEO and off-page SEO are both important factors in improving overall search engine optimization. On-page is what you control on your website and includes Structure and Content. The website structure includes internal links. Off-page refers primarily to link-building.
Here’s some additional information on both of those factors

Mark asks…
Mailing Lists aka Newsletters + Hosts Recommendations?
Hi guys,
I am building a web site in Flash for a local community. Right now the way they send out newsletters is brutal (4 gmail accounts, tons of spreadsheets) and they need an easier way of doing it.
Their current subscriber base is around 1500.
What I need is a good solid mailing list hosting company that has their own email server that can be used to send out mass emails at a cheap monthly/annual rate… my ideal would be $100 yearly, $10 a month like bravenet, but I’m wondering what else is out there?
I need something that’s Flash friendly. My ideal is that they enter their e-mail address, and click either subscribe or unsubscribe.. simple said and done.
Any ideas? I looked at mailchimp but it gets a bit pricey after 2000 subscribers, my safe zone would be 3000 subscribers. Plain text emails are fine, emails won’t be sent out more than 1-3 times monthly.
Lastly… if anyone has a nice free website host they can recommend with no ads and flash support that would be good too. There won’t be much site traffic so bandwidth is a non issue.
Cheers

Traffic Guy answers:
You should use an e-mail marketing service, it keeps an email database, allows you to set up auto responders and also gives you awesome HTML e-mail templates the will work with Flash.
All the pro e-mail marketers use this service and its surprisingly cheap!

This website is great for web advertising. It’s a free targeted advertising (based on you selecting various categories you would like to be included in) and link exchange network. You put other websites text ads on your page and yours appears on others. And it really is 100% free, forever. While it’s not something that guarantees traffic it also doesn’t cost anything, so why not try it?
Good luck!

How do I get more traffic to my website?
I have registered for this free viral system http://www.diagnosis-malignant-mesothelioma-prognosis-claims-settlement.com/best-e-business-money-tools.html
Has anyone had success with this system.
Are there any other good web traffic generation systems available that work well?

Traffic Guy answers:
You need to look into Search Engine Marketing.
This is made up of
1)PPC: the sponsored adverts to the side of Google / Yahoo / Live search
2)SEO: The organic results or main results in the middle of Google / Yahoo / Live search
PPC is a quick fix and great for transactional products. SEO is more long term but also great for traffic. Both are great and need to be integrated and full info can be found here http://www.4psmarketing.com/ .
I’m not just recommending these services because we provide them. The reality is most people use Google when searching for products and services. You need to be in the results to get traffic.
Kind Regards

Traffic Guy answers:
If you’re in India, and are not American, just let them know that you’re not in the USA and have no USA employees etc. They will then register you as a foreign resident, and you will not have to pay American taxes. You may have to declare any earnings to your government and pay taxes in India, of course, if you earn enough.
As for increasing traffic, the best way is to write lots good articles, so you will be found via search engines. The most important thing for any website is good, original, interesting content that people want to read.

Ken asks…
Increase website traffic?
My mother and I have partnered a business that we run from home. We sell through the website I created using Yahoo’s website builder. The problem is that we need to create more traffic TO our website. We don’t exactly have an advertising budget, being as small as we are. Right now, we are registered on the Yahoo and Google search engines. I have even set up an account with both for pay per click advertising. This has helped, but not enough. I am learning, but I am certainly no webmaster. How can I create more traffic to the website so we can generate more business?
If you need to look at the site to give me some advice it is simply ThimbleThings.com

Traffic Guy answers:
Getting traffic is a combination of a lot of things. The key to success is to create great content that visitors want to use, search engines will love and other websites will naturally link to. Of course, it’s easier said than done.
You can use pay per click advertising in the search engines to reach audiences looking for your products. You can use Google Adwords http://www.google.com/adwords or Yahoo http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com
Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:
1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement – if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.
2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important — and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more – that’s additional traffic that you get for FREE!
AddThis http://www.addthis.com
3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.
If you are going to read only one piece on search engine optimization, I suggest you read Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld.com’s “Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone: 26 steps to 15k a day.” http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2010.htm
4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

Your Questions About Easy Mass Traffic

Robert asks…
My manual 1994 BMW 318is yo-yos when I engage the clutch.?
In this car, the only difference from stock is a single-mass flywheel that rattles a little bit, the usual light-clutch chatter.
The problem has always been around as far as I can remember…. … maybe it got worse without the original dual-mass flywheel, but it’s beginning to get old with me. While engaging the clutch you have to be really buttery because otherwise the car will yo-yo as the next gear is locked in. This usually happens at street-level speeds. In stop-go traffic its a pain.
Is the fix as easy as new engine/ tranny mounts, or what can I do to eliminate it? Thanks.

Traffic Guy answers:
The obvious answer is simply to revert back to the stock dual mass flywheel.
The purpose of the flywheel is exactly to eliminate problems like what you’ve described. The inertial in the flywheel has to keep up as you change gears in order to make the transition as smooth as possible.
If you track your car, that might not be an issue, but as you’ve said, it can get old when you drive it as your daily driver.

Thomas asks…
does an open border make sense?
If They Can Make It Through the Border
Open for the enemy.
“America is still the land of opportunity,” Senator John McCain recently said. “And we’re not going to erect barriers and fences.”
Unlucky us.
Along with Massachusetts Democrat Ted Kennedy, the Arizona Republican cosponsored immigration legislation currently crawling through the Senate. McCain should recognize that without a barrier or fence, the U.S./Mexican frontier will continue to welcome Islamic extremists pledged to America’s doom.
This is not hypothetical.
“Members of Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based terrorist organization, have already entered the United States across our southwest border,” declares “A Line in the Sand,” a January report of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Investigations, then-chaired by Texas Republican Michael McCaul.
The study cites FBI Director Robert Mueller’s March 2005 congressional testimony confirming that, “there are individuals from countries with known al Qaeda connections who are changing their Islamic surnames to Hispanic-sounding names and obtaining false Hispanic identities, learning to speak Spanish, and pretending to be Hispanic immigrants.”
Zapata County, Texas Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez told a House International Relations subcommittee last July 7: “If smugglers can bring in tons of marijuana and cocaine at one time and can smuggle 20 to 30 persons at one time, one can just imagine how easy it would be to bring in two or three terrorists or their weapons of mass destruction across the river and not be detected.”
In Fiscal Year 2005 alone, the latest data show 3,308 aliens got caught sneaking into America from nations the State Department considers state-sponsors of terrorism: 3,262 Cubans, 25 Iranians, four North Koreans, four Sudanese, and 13 Syrians. Assuming the Cubans all were pro-American anti-Communists, 46 people remain from terror-supporting nations. A group that size could staff another September 11 more than twice over, or populate seven more Lackawanna Six Islamic-fanatic conspiracies.
Others who were collared that year departed nations in which terrorists thrive, though without government assistance: three Saudis, seven Lebanese, seven Yemenis, 11 Algerians, 15 Afghans, 17 Egyptians, 22 Somalis, 25 Indonesians, 27 Jordanians, and 101 Pakistanis. Let’s hope these 235 individuals tried to break into America to harvest broccoli.
Of course, these are folks the Border Patrol arrested.
“Federal law enforcement entities estimate they apprehended approximately 10 to 30 percent of illegal aliens crossing the border,” that House report states. If true, aliens from terrorist-laden nations successfully penetrated America’s perimeter in numbers three to ten times those above.
May those we have missed be unlike those we have caught:
As children, Dritan, Eljvir, and Shain Duka illegally headed north into the United States across the Mexican border near Brownsville, Texas in 1984, a federal law-enforcement official told Fox News May 9. These Muslim Albanian refugees moved to New Jersey, and eventually became serial traffic offenders. Dritan’s driver’s license was suspended 11 times. Shain’s was suspended on 19 occasions, while Elvir received 24 suspensions. Local sanctuary laws prevented cops from inquiring about the Dukas’s immigration status or subsequently reporting them to relevant U.S. agencies.
Nonetheless, the Dukas’s notoriety deepened. Last May 7, authorities arrested them in the Garden State for advancing a suspected Islamofascist conspiracy to kill “as many soldiers as possible” with machine guns, mortars, and rocket-propelled grenades. As such, authorities say, the illegal-alien Duka brothers represent half of the Fort Dix Six.
As children, Fort Dix Six suspects Eljvir and Shain Duka — seen here last month in Camden, New Jersey’s U.S. District Court — reportedly crossed illegally into America from Mexico in 1984 with their accused-terrorist brother, Dritan.
Mahmoud Youssef Kourani pleaded guilty in March 2005 to providing terrorists material support. After bribing a Mexican diplomat in Beirut for a visa, Kourani and another Middle Easterner’s Mexican guides shepherded them into America. Kourani settled in Dearborn, Michigan’s Lebanese-immigrant enclave, where he raised cash for Hezbollah.
Federal agents arrested Neeran Zaia and Basima Sesi in September 2004 for smuggling more than 200 Middle Easterners — mainly Iraqis, Jordanians, and Syrians — through Latin America and Mexico into the U.S. Zaia previously was convicted of alien-smuggling.
Tijuana café owner Salim Boughader Mucharrafille was arrested in December 2002 for smuggling into America more than 200 Lebanese, including suspected Hezbollah associates.
Beyond Islamic prayer mats among the cacti, Jim Hogg County, Texas Border Patrol agents found a jacket with Arabic-language patches. One reads, “martyr” and “way to immortality.” The other depicts a jet flying into a skyscraper.
Despite September 2006 congressional vote to fence off 700 miles of the southern border, the Senate now backs only a 370-mile partition. This is especially discouraging, since that frontier’s condition is, officially, dismal:
“DHS does not as yet have a wholly satisfactory methodology of determining whether a portion of the border is considered under control from a system-wide, defense-in-depth, and continuously enforceable perspective,” laments a May 1 Homeland Security congressional update. “In the end, gaining control of the border requires gaining control of the entire border, so that as illegal immigration is stopped at one location along the border, it can find no alternate crossing point.”
In the end, Congress quickly must stitch the gaping wound across America’s underbelly. While the U.S./Canadian boundary is worrisome, 1/24 as many illegals traverse it, versus its southern counterpart. While most illegals come here to work, which presents its own challenges, others endure extreme heat and dodge Gila monsters to come here and kill us.

Traffic Guy answers:
Holy, dude! You don’t expect anybody to read all that, do you? I read about 3 paragraphs, past the part about erecting a fence, so I’ll just talk about that.
A fence never has and never will keep people out that want in. They’re called wire cutters. They’re very easy to use. I know they sell them in Canada and I’m sure they sell them in Mexico as well. A fence is not an effective method of border control AT ALL! The only way to make absolutely sure nobody got in would be to patrol the whole border, and that’s just not possible. It’s a very big border!

Maria asks…
Speeding ticket worth fighting?
Got my first ticket on New Years, I’m 21 been driving for over 5 years. Michigan state police officer said he clocked me at 70mph in a 55. I told him I was going kinda fast because I was trying to beat the winter storm home from my relatives, as I got caught in a mass storm on the way there and my car didn’t fare well. He said there was a car a quarter mile behind me goin the speed limit when I said I thought I kept decent pace with traffic. I had passed him which was why I was going so fast, I guess I hadn’t slowed down enough before he saw me? He decided to ‘go easy on me’ and cited it as 60mph. Comment section says “actual: 70mph posted: 55mph: cited: 60 mph AT – GOING FAST TRYING TO BEAT STORM S/B SINGLE 70–”. ——I live about an hour away from the courthouse across the border in Indiana. I’m not too thrilled about 3 years of raised insurance is it worth driving to the courthouse and possibly getting it off the record sooner or avoiding it? It will be 2 points on my license.
Theres an additional problem here that I thought people would pick up on, will I be able to do driving school when it was in another state as I am an Indiana resident? I don’t know how to go about checking or doing this driving school, but 3 years of raised insurance is a crapload of money, so it seems worth it. However, some people here are saying insurance companies will see it no matter what now? Kinda confused?

Traffic Guy answers:
All the excuses in the world does not change the fact that you were speeding. Pay your fine and learn from that mistake and don’t do it again.

Jenny asks…
Is the USA still #1? Where does China Rank?
China has six of the 15 tallest buildings in the world. USA has only three.
China has 10,000 miles of highspeed train track and trains that go 250 miles per hour. USA has 200 year old Amtrak that goes 60 miles per hour.
China has 100 single needle bridges. USA is building one in the Oakland Bay Bridge assembling it only after its been shipped from Shanghai where they make it.
Education in USA is down the tubes, behind South Korea and Singapore. Also, kids from China outperform those in the USA anyway you want to measure it.
China’s 1st tier 2nd tier and 3rd tier cities has better infrastructure like buildings, roads, mass transit facilities better than any city in the USA.
China is more cosmopolitan in its cities than the USA. Example, china does not the American Arrogant policy of “if you come to America, be an American and speak English”. In China, they accommodate all different languages. Traffic signs are both in Chinese, English, and in some cities French. China does not have a language policy like the USA. USA’s arrogant when they say, if you come to America and want to work here, speak English or get the hellout. No, China makes it easy for you foreigners to live and work in China. Now, is it not, that China is not bigotted like whitie from America?

Traffic Guy answers:
Why bother asking if you’ve clearly got the answer in your head?
Well, the US may use other forms of transportation apart from trains, tall buildings don’t always indicate the best conditions. Obviously if you base everything off of that and your infrastructure and education points it would be legitimate, but it is bigoted and prejudiced to assume all Americans are bigoted and prejudiced. The USA has no “language policy” or official language, despite what some people may want. Many people can survive without learning English, although it would prove exceedingly difficult to not know the mostly widely spoken language in a country, and learning it would help an immigrant get a job, which is definitely possible in a socially mobile place like the USA. Also, the USA has better civil rights for its citizens and gives the individuals more rights, which many would gladly live in America for.
In closing, USA is somewhere up there, but being overtaken by Scandinavian countries where they have ridiculous literacy rates. China would probably be further down, and South Korea would be doing swimmingly.

John asks…
What is wrong with leaving Latina women and children water didn’t the statue of libery say come?
Border activists who want to put water bottles on a Southern Arizona wildlife refuge have gotten to the negotiating table with federal officials this summer, but it hasn’t been easy getting there.
Agents in the Fish and Wildlife Department have ticketed 15 activists for putting water out on the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge west of Arivaca, a location where many illegal immigrants cross the U.S.-Mexico border.
Two members of the No More Deaths and Samaritans organizations already have been tried and convicted of federal littering charges. On Wednesday, 13 activists declined plea bargains on their littering citations and face trial Nov. 10 in U.S. District Court.
The 13 were arrested in July, the month after activist Walt Staton was convicted, and the mass arrest seems to have upped the ante. The groups won a meeting in Washington, D.C., with Interior Secretary Ken Salazar later that month and have met two more times since with local officials, and have a third meeting scheduled for Thursday.
Refuge manager Mike Hawkes said, “we’re going to work with them to come up with a permit to (put water out) in an environmentally friendly way, without leaving plastic bottles all over the place.”
The problem is that the refuge, which covers five miles of the Mexico border and is about 25 miles north and south along migrant trails, is traversed by an estimated 30,000 illegal immigrants a year. That is down from the estimated annual traffic of 300,000 several years ago, but still averages at least 80 a day.
Hawkes said the plastic bottles left by humanitarians are picked up by migrants along the trails, which are well-known. Then they are dropped, often in remote locations, and can threaten already endangered animal species because plastic breaks into shards and animals can eat or step on the plastic. He said if the activists could lock water containers to trees, for examples, migrants would refill their own empty jugs rather then throw them away, and activists could refill the containers along the trails.
In a press conference after the court hearing, defendant Leesa Jacobson said the charge of littering was “bogus” because the activists remove bags of litter whenever they visit the refuge and only leave jugs of water.
The other defendants are Ed McCullough, Joseph David Hill, Jeff Millsap, Paula McPheeters, Jimmy McPherson, the Rev. John Fife, the Rev. Gene Lefebvre, Corinne Bancroft, Charles Rooney, Maureen Marx, Louis Martin and the Rev. Jerome Zawada.
The activists do not dispute putting the water jugs on the land, but said they were only leaving clean water for illegal immigrants as a humanitarian action because nearly 200 immigrants have died this year in the Southern Arizona desert. They say federal immigration policy has funneled immigrants into the dangerous Arizona desert and that government agencies are allowing migrants to die for lack of water.
