Blogging For Increased Visitors

1. Use lists – Compose articles with lists - People love to look over lists. Such as “3 things every _____  manager should know” or “a few things never to do when ________”.

2. Very popular Topics – Write about current popular topics that are linked to your industry. Keep abreast of what is going on in your industry with MSN alerts. Sign up to Google alerts at Google.com/alerts

3. Break News - If ever possible break news in your business. The weblog that breaks news gets quick notoriety and a lot of focus. Purchase trade journals in your sector and read white papers to keep updated or breaking news.

4. Don’t write about your kids, house animals or boyfriend – I am sure your cat is cute, and your kids are beautiful and funny … but the truth is nobody cares … we all have youngsters, pets. It is just not that thrilling.

5. Tag your posts – Add key words to your articles in the tag field when writing your content. Also add key words to your article titles.

6. Include trackbacks - When composing your posts include things like trackbacks to similar content in your field. Similar to blogcomments with a trackback you are leaving a hyperlink back to your article on the other blog, delivering you free traffic and back links.

8. Submit your rss feed – Submit your blog’s rss feed to all of the main rss internet directories for example feedage.com, feedzilla.com, syndic8.com

9. Bookmark your posts – Bookmark your blog posts at major bookmarking sites just like digg.com, propeller, reddit, stumbleupon, yahoo buzz and del.icio.us.com

10. Post on weekdays – Most blog visitors are men and women with jobs, they have a tendency to read their preferred weblogs at work, on their cellular devices or on their breaks from work … blog post on weekdays during work hours and your posts will get more interest and generate traffic  to your blog site.
